This is sort of similar to a game for the Nintendo DS called Cooking Mama. In Love Chef's case you use the mouse instead of a stylus to chop up ingredients, and click certain areas of the screen with accurate timing. You'll be making a number of dishes that will change in appearance depending on how well you cooked them. It sounds easy but getting perfect marks requires some extra tries at speed and timing. I was impressed by all the different well-drawn graphics, inclusion of multiple languages, and little touches of customization.

There's a series for game consoles called Harvest Moon. For me, it is inexplicably and extremely addictive, and I see shades of it in this game. Well, perhaps more than shades since you end up farming in both games, heh. You start off with a chicken or two and will eventually aim to have a a variety and steady flow of income and life around. There are dangers at hand that'll have you clicking madly on intruders, and numerous objectives to complete. Levels are good in length, variety, and increasing difficulty. Everytime I thought of quitting I ended up thinking "Just one more level..." As for the lower points of the game, it is rather polarizing. I'm sure many will find it just flat-out boring. The Harvest Moon series is the same, either love it or hate it. Farm Frenzy does have some things in common with games like Anno 1404 or Build-A-Lot though in terms of the levels.

This game alternates between two types of play- aiming and shooting while on foot and then driving to areas. Getting used to the transitioning can take a little while. It is best controlled with a mouse, hard to control on a laptop. I was really impressed with the graphics (looks 3D) and interface, smooth and clean levels with a stat screen at the end of each level. I wish most games had that. There's also a leaderboard for competitive play.

This is the first time I've played Lightning. It is a little overwhelming, in all regards except following up on Wilds the AI acts quickly and ended up coming close to beating me each time I played. If I was just the slightest bit more absentminded I think it would have. :p Make sure to read the instructions, it's a little confusing at first. But indeed, very addictive and fun.

This particular title is geared more torwards young girls, preteen and teenage, perhaps younger too. This is a life simulation game with some non-linear dating sim elements. I've always enjoyed the life sim genre (games like Harvest Moon, The Sims, Animal Crossing.) along with a dating aspect reminiscent of Princess Debut (for the Nintendo DS) and Yo-Jin-Bo (for PC) In Festival Days you'll be exploring various places around town- your school, your workplace, the local beach or park, etc. There are various friends to make, items to purchase/make, and skills to learn and only a handful of things you're allowed to do each day. Your choices each day will mark what kind of ending you get as well as what events will be granted to you. As for the dating sim aspect, there are a number of boys around town that you can befriend and proceed to pursue romantically. Conversations will result in questions to answer, hopefully correctly, and increase stat points. There are also little secrets hiding around town and an in-game walkthrough if you really get stuck. I quite like the art style as well. So with replay value, in-game secrets, non-linearity, and the oddly addictive grind of structured choices to be made this was pretty much the game for me and my favorite thusfar on this site.
